It takes time to write and present your proposals well as making the follow-up. So pay attention to detail and any specifications that they may ask for and try to use concise persuasive writing. Read their guidelines before you start writing. 1. Can you prove that there is a need or problem in your proposal? 2. Will you deliver an answer to the need, or solution to the problem? 3. Do a bit of research of the grant-makers and look for their funding priorities. 4. Do their goals and objectives match your project? 5. You could telephone them before you write your proposal, to be sure your project will be welcomed by them. 6. Can you clearly describe the impact of any funds from them will make to the need? They are always looking for "Outcomes" 7. Get someone else to read through it BEFORE you send it off. Lastly, always follow-up to find out what the outcome of your proposal was. You can always ask for some feedback about your application's strengths and weaknesses. Good luck and don't lose heart. It is tough but you WILL get there.
